SNF Nostos Minecraft Challenge
Build your own version of the SNFCC with Minecraft!
Join the interactive Minecraft Challenge at this summer’s SNF Nostos—either solo or with friends—to build your own version of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) and Stavros Niarchos Park.
First, the basics: What is Minecraft? Minecraft is a video game in which players use cubes to build in a three-dimensional world. What can you build? The only limit is your creativity. The specially designed SNF Nostos challenge invites you to build a complete replica of the SNFCC, or parts of it.
You can participate in the challenge from everywhere you are in two ways:
Category A) Remotely on your digital device through Minecraft
Category B) Unplugged, using LEGO® bricks, paper, markers, craft sticks, or any other building materials you choose.

If you don’t live in Athens, or cannot physically visit the SNFCC during the challenge, you can still visit it virtually, here.
If you do not already own Minecraft software, you can get a free one-year subscription, supported by SNF, to Minecraft: Education Edition. Please submit this form to get your copy of the game here.
Alternatively, for the duration of the festival, you can work on either a digital or a physical model (Category A and Category B) at the SNF Nostos Lab that will be set up at the SNFCC.

One winner will be selected from each Minecraft Challenge category (Online & Unplugged) based on the jury’s assessment.
The winners will be announced during the Award Ceremony that will take place on Sunday, August 29th, at 20:00, at the SNFCC Lighthouse, and each winner will receive an iPad Air 10.9-inch Wi-Fi/ 4G / 256GB. The event will be livestreamed at snfnostos.org
The jury is comprised by representatives of the organizations that collaborated for the production of SNF Nostos Hackathon: Microsoft (1 member), Ampersand (&) Learning & Technology (1 member), learn-tech.io (1 member), Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) (2 members).

Free entrance on a first-come-first-serve basis, 12 participants every 45 minutes, by showing your SNF Nostos ID in print or digital form.
On Sunday, August 29th, 2021, at 20:00, an award ceremony will take place at the SNFCC Lighthouse.
The challenge is addressed to children ages 5-16.
