Dr. Emile Bacha is an internationally recognized cardiac surgeon and a passionate lifelong advocate for patients and families affected by congenital heart disease (CHD). With decades of experience spanning clinical care, research, and innovation. Dr. Bacha has been at the forefront of efforts to improve outcomes and reimagine what is possible for children and adults living with CHD.   

In this inspiring and forward-looking keynote presentation on the theme of Global Children's Health Day, Dr. Bacha’s address “A world without congenital heart disease” will explore questions such as whether CHD is preventable and discuss the advancement of transformative treatments and interventions to address CHD. Drawing on cutting-edge science, emerging research and technologies, and the power of collaboration, this talk will challenge you to think beyond managing disease and consider the world without it.
