The power of partnership in the fight for cancer equity
How can it be that a cancer which could be easily cured remains a death sentence for far too many patients? While the scientific community continues to make great strides in cancer research, patient outcomes often remain dependent on where in the world a patient lives, and what treatment resources are available to them.
In a keynote address, HRH Princess Ghida Talal of Jordan will discuss the efforts being made to address this gap in access to state-of-the-art treatment in Jordan at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC). In a country surrounded by conflict, against all odds, KHCC is working to provide the most advanced cancer treatment to every patient—including refugee and underprivileged patients—while addressing their psychosocial and mental health needs.
Through multilateral collaboration with stakeholders from across the globe, including the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, KHCC is ensuring that every child has access to the most advanced treatment protocols, and that their chances of survival are not dictated by the place or circumstances of their birth.
