Godwin Asediba

Godwin Asediba is a trailblazing Ghanaian investigative journalist, documentary filmmaker, and news anchor whose fearless storytelling has earned him international acclaim and transformed lives across Africa. 

In 2025, he achieved historic milestones by winning the prestigious BBC News Komla Dumor Award, becoming the first Ghanaian to receive the Michael Elliott Award for Excellence in African Storytelling from the International Center for Journalists, and being named Overall Best Journalist of the Year by the Ghana Journalists Association. A five-time GJA award recipient, he has also garnered recognition from the UK’s Foreign Press Association and secured numerous regional and international fellowships, cementing his role as a leading voice in African journalism. 

A graduate of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Godwin has perfected his craft through professional development with The Economist in London and currently works as a journalist with BBC News. His groundbreaking investigative documentaries, tackling injustice, human rights abuses, and social inequities have sparked public outcry, parliamentary action, and tangible policy reforms.
