Michael Kimmelman is the architecture critic for The New York Times, and founder and editor-at-large of Headway, a philanthropically supported journalist venture at The Times focused on big global challenges and paths to progress. He teaches at Columbia University, is the author of various books, and was the longtime chief art critic for The Times and a columnist based in Berlin covering cultural, political, and social affairs across Europe and the Middle East. He is currently a senior visiting fellow at LSE Cities in London.
