Sophia Baleeiro

Sophia is a third-year undergraduate studying environmental science and political science at Johns Hopkins University with a focus on Latin America. She competes on the JHU Model United Nations team and represents Hopkins as a Division III fencer. She currently serves as a research assistant for the History of Medicine, and volunteers to encourage civic engagement on campus. She also works with a community organization to combat food apartheid in South Baltimore. She has previously worked in microbiology labs and the Baltimore Public Defender's Office. She hopes to be an environmental and human rights lawyer after graduating. She is beyond excited and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Nostos 2026.
