SNF Nostos Conference
Celebrating and reflecting on 30 years of grantmaking by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), the 2026 SNF Nostos Conference is guided, as is all our work, by a focus on putting “humanity at the core.”
Because the goal of every SNF grant is working with our grantee-partner to make the world a bit better for the generations to come, looking back on 30 years of grants also inevitably means looking forward to the future. We believe that young people should have a voice in the decisions shaping their future, and this year the SNF Nostos Youth Advisory Committee has taken a more active role than ever before in shaping the Conference schedule.
From Monday to Thursday, the wide-ranging program will be organized around four “Houses”: the House of Civics & Education, the House of Health & Sports, the House of Arts & Culture, and the House of the Future. On Friday, the week will come to a culmination, what we’re calling the “Core of the Conference”, with exciting plenary sessions—including a first-ever “Ask Me Anything” with SNF Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos, chats with athletes Giannis Antetokounmpo and Emmanouil Karalis, and the announcement of the nonprofits selected for30 for 30: Next Gen Grants.

House of Civics & Education
The House of Civics & Education will be the go-to place for topics like lifelong learning and personal growth, mentorship, active citizenship and civic engagement, welcoming and useful public spaces, and other key components of civic life.
We believe that everyone has an inalienable right to education and to accessing knowledge. Through the offerings of the House of Civics & Education, you’ll learn more about the grantee-partners with whom we’ve worked toward achieving that goal.
House of Health
It might sound cliché, but there’s nothing more fundamental in life than health. Sports, go far beyond simple physical fitness, creating joy, camaraderie, and growth.
Health & Sports is our largest grantmaking pillar, primarily thanks to the Global Health Initiative (GHI), our major international effort to broaden access to quality physical and mental health care, and our support to one of our closest partners, Regeneration & Progress.
The House of Health and Sports will highlight various GHI projects, including the three new SNF public hospitals under construction in Thessaloniki, Komotini, and Sparta. Sports will play an active role as well as a contributor to health and to lifelong habits and mindsets.
From medical innovation to accessibility in sports, to designing the hospitals of the future, this program will be unmissable.
House of Arts & Culture
Is art a luxury or a necessity? Its power to help us appreciate our shared humanity gives us our answer. After 30 years of working and collaborating in arts and culture, we’ve seen the challenges the sector faces and the opportunities it presents for connection, illumination, and transformation.
Through talks, panels, and other happenings at the House of Arts & Culture, attendees will have the chance to explore the vital, and often overlooked, role of art in our societies in healing, inspiring, educating, and transforming.
House of the Future
Philanthropy is essentially forward-looking, but looking back on 30 years of work can offers invaluable lessons that help us see further, discern more clearly, and plan better.
What will philanthropy look like 5 years from now? 30 years from now? It doesn’t exist in a vacuum, so proposing answers to these questions for SNF and for grantmakers overall requires forecasting changes in technology, society, policy, and more.
The Core Conference
At the end of the week the “Houses” give way to household names.
The final day of the 2026 SNF Nostos Conference, aka Core of the Conference, includes some of the week’s marquee sessions. From a never-before-done “Ask Me Anything” with SNF Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos, to this year’s edition of the always-thought-provoking SNF Dialogues, and from conversations with athletes Emmanouil Karalis and Giannis Antetokounmpo to the launch of the 30 for 30: Next Gen Grants, this is a day not to be missed.
