Johanna Jonsson
Swedish architect and artist, Co-Founder of Polymorf
Johanna Jonsson is a Co-Founder of Polymorf, a Malmö-based Architecture, design and research practice established in 2019. The studio is recognized for its work at the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and digital fabrication, specifically focusing on procedural design and 3D-printed ceramics.
Jonsson’s work involves exploring the "borderland" between organic forms and procedural generation. Her practice translates biological processes into architectural structures, sculptures, and functional objects. Under her leadership, Polymorf has developed integrated design flows that use fractal patterns and topological research to create unique ceramic bricks and large-scale installations.
A graduate of the Department of Architecture and Built Environment at Lund University, Jonsson has exhibited her work at prestigious venues including the Venice Architecture Biennale (2025), Milano Design week, and Copenhagen Architectural Biennale. Her contributions to the field emphasize the "living nature of matter," seeking to create structures that foster a deeper human connection to the built environment.
