Throughout the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s (SNF) 30-year journey, we have built deep and longstanding relationships with nonprofit organizations whose missions we have stood behind as exclusive supporters. Each of these affiliated nonprofit organizations plays a distinct and meaningful role in its field. They include the nonprofit journalism organization iMEdD (incubator for Media Education and Development), founded with exclusive support from SNF, which seeks to strengthen transparency and credibility in journalism; Regeneration & Progress, a nonprofit organization active in the fields of health and sports that runs the Mobile Medical Units, a program that has provided free medical care to residents of remote areas across Greece since 2014; as well as Vamvakou Revival, which seeks to bring new life to Vamvakou, a small mountain village located on Mount Parnon in Greece’s Peloponnese.
After so many years together on a shared journey with these organizations, it’s only natural that they would be key contributors to SNF Nostos 2026. In particular, iMEdD joins this year’s SNF Nostos 2026 with a series of initiatives designed to bring journalism to the public. Through its role as co-curator of the overall SNF Nostos program, alongside its editorial curation of the SNF Dialogues, iMEdD has actively contributed to this year’s conversations and overall festival experience. At the same time, it creates an open space for audiences to engage with the organization’s content, work, and people, and brings together journalists from the Greek local press and members of iMEdD’s international network to follow stories and discussions from around the world. As part of this year’s program, iMEdD is also turning SNF Nostos 2026 into a space for audiovisual production, where emerging journalists gain hands-on experience throughout the process. Finally, iMEdD presents a discussion on how journalism can connect more meaningfully with its audiences, bringing investigative reporting to the stage through the innovative format of live journalism.
Regeneration & Progress is behind the organization of the SNF Nostos Run on June 23, and throughout the week it will also operate the Sports Excellence Hub. Guided by specialized professionals, the Hub will offer opportunities for exercise and learning, highlighting the ways in which physical activity can meaningfully contribute to health and human performance. At the same time, the Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) will be on hand at SNF Nostos with specialized staff to offer free women’s health screenings by appointment.
Vamvakou Revival brings exceptional traditional flavors to SNF Nostos, which visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy at Kafeneio tou Gianni. The village welcomes visitors year-round, offering an ideal opportunity to disconnect from the stresses of life and reconnect with nature amid the lush greenery and fresh air of Mount Parnon.
