Lilian Venetia Vildiridi is an economist specialising in health systems and public policy. She holds a BSc in Social Policy and Economics from LSE and an MSc in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing from LSE and LSHTM. She is currently pursuing a PhD at the School of Health Sciences, University of Athens. Since July 2023, she has been serving as Secretary General for Health Services at the Hellenic Ministry of Health. In this role, she has been involved in the implementation of reforms in the hospital sector, including health workforce planning, hospital infrastructure upgrades, and the reorganisation of hospital and emergency care services. Her work also includes strengthening performance monitoring in public hospitals, with a focus on improving service delivery, patient experience, and system efficiency. Between 2019 and 2023, she held senior advisory roles within the Ministry of Health. She also serves as Greece’s National Representative to the European Commission Expert Group on Health System Performance Assessment and as national delegate to the OECD Health Committee. Earlier in her career, she was a Research Associate at LSE Health.
