Artist and Creative Director

Marisa Morán Jahn is an artist and creative director of Ecuadorian/Chinese descent whose work explores “civic spaces and the radical art of play” (Chicago Tribune). Across media and scale, Jahn’s signature embrace of color, joy, and humor invites participants to explore complex issues. Her work has reached broad audiences via the United Nations, the White House, Guggenheim, Venice Biennale, Tribeca Film Festival, and strategic partnerships with NBA’s Chicago Bulls and WNBA’s Chicago Sky. Jahn’s work has received acclaim in The New York Times, BBC, CNN, Artforum, Univision, Forbes, and Fader and garnered awards from Sundance Institute, Creative Capital, Holcim Grand Prize, and more. She is a Senior Researcher at MIT (her alma mater) and the Director of Integrated Design at Parsons/The New School. With architect Rafi Segal, she co-founded Carehaus, the US’s first care-based co-housing project; co-created the HOOPcycle (think MesoAmerican basketball meets tricycle), and is transforming a former brick factory in the heart of Kosovo’s capital, Prishtina, into an art and technology district. She is represented by Sapar Contemporary. http://marisajahn.com @marisa_jahn
