Temporary traffic restrictions for the SNF Nostos Run
The SNF Nostos Run, the popular evening race from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), returns on June 23, 2026, on Olympic Day. The race represents all that staying active can do for us, from strengthening our concentration to improving our mood and boosting our creativity, but above all reflects the importance of striving toward a goal, especially when it is a collective one.
The run includes 10K and 6K routes, starting from the Panathenaic Stadium and finishing at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), as well as a 1K route for Special Olympics athletes. The 10K route will start at 20:50, the 6K at 21:10, and the 1K at 20:50. Runners will cross the center of the city, continue through Syngrou Avenue and finish at the SNFCC.
Temporary traffic restrictions will be in effect during the run. Specifically, in accordance with a decision by the Attica Traffic Police Directorate, the restriction listed here will be in effect.
Once again, the SNF Nostos Run is charitable in nature. All proceeds from the runners’ participation fees will be donated to support the work of nonprofit organizations Lampsi, which strives for excellent medical and pediatric care for children in Northern Greece with serious diseases, and Pnoi Agapis, an association of volunteers for the social and emotional support of people with cancer and their families. Runners’ donations will go even further with SNF’s additional support, as SNF will triple each contribution.
Organizational supervision of the race is provided by the nonprofit Regeneration & Progress and the Department of Sports Excellence – Sports Excellence at the 1st Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
The race is organized in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), with the assistance of the Hellenic National Center of Emergency Care (EKAV), the Athens Urban Transport Organization and STASY (Athens Urban Rail Transport), and is held under the auspices of the Hellenic Police.
