Professor Pavlos M. Myrianthefs was born in Cyprus. He studied Medicine at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and became Pulmonologist, Intensivist and Sleep Medicine Specialist. He had his fellowship at the Department of Pulmonary & Critical Care, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, Chicago (USA). He joined NKUA since 2004 and became full professor since 2014. Since 2020 he is chairman of the Department of Nursing at the School of Health Sciences and member of the senate of NKUA. He is currently practicing Medicine at Agioi Anargyroi Hospital and he is Director and Chief at the Intensive Care Unit. He teaches at the undergraduate and postgraduate level and he published more than 150 scientific papers in international medical journals. He wrote 55 chapters in medical books and among them “Sepsis and Immunoparalysis” In Hall, Schmidt & Wood’s Principles of Critical Care, 4th edition McGraw-Hill. He is scientific director of the National educational project for infection prevention and control (2021-2026) for healthcare personnel in Greek Hospitals sponsored by Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s (SNF) in the context of Global Health Initiative (GHI).
